Warehouse management systems are probably one of the more complex pieces of your operation, and if you're considering either migrating or implementing a brand new system, you're in for a lengthy process. To get started, we've pulled 5 key questions to help you as early as possible define the scope of your project. discuss order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, inventory control, labor and equipment challenges:

  1. How are inaccuracies negatively impacting your business?
  2. What do you need to accurately pick, pack and ship your orders?
  3. How can your current system integrate with your e-commerce system?
  4. What information do you need to make strategic decisions?
  5. How fast do you need warehouse data to be available across the enterprise?
How your warehouse interacts with your employees, customers, and vendors will ultimately determine the success of your project.

Working for Dane Karcher, WMS expert at Source Consulting and seeing all the cost and time saving benefits companies achieve by just having the right picking, packing and shipping procedures in place, by figuring out a routing system in their warehouse that works and the amount of money they save in fines they are paying to their vendors because of wrong shipping label requirements, I am convinced that investing in a WMS system is very cost effective.
